"“With its great mix of business and leisure travelers, and the city’s extensive list of landmarks and events, Nashville is a perfect fit for the growing JetBlue network,” said John Checketts, director route planning at JetBlue. “With daily nonstop flights to two of our fastest growing focus cities, customers will benefit from a long list of convenient and affordable travel choices whether flying to or from ‘Music City.’”

Didn't JetBlue leave Nashville about 6-7 years ago? Now they are coming back?

Yes, they had an unprofitable New York flight they stopped in 2008. They're still not flying to NY (their largest hub), but will offer service to Boston and Fort Lauderdale. There's much less competition on those routes; only Southwest flies direct to Boston and FLL.

When we moved here only Delta flew direct to Boston and then they canceled it about 9 mos after we got here. Probably because my husband stopped flying it every Thursday once we moved here

Found this old thread . . I guess it left in 2007. Never flown Jet Blue but hear it's nice? Now I just need a reason to go to Boston . .

Good for Nashville. I wish JetBlue would come to Atlanta, but they probably never will. Delta just negotiated a very favorable 20-year lease with the city of Atlanta that will continue to make it difficult for other carriers to enter the market.

They are nice. Think Southwest but with assigned seating and seat-back TVs/entertainment systems. I once flew them exclusively back when I lived in NY.

Great news! Always nice to have options. Southwest is so crowded now, almost always full :/
