i don't know about the safety of the area, but it is not particularly pleasant or happening for a spring break.
I would look at the west end area, many hotels and actually interesting.

It's right off the Interstate within sight of downtown. It's not in the best part of town in general, but right around there is mostly commerical (motels, fast food places, etc.).

It would probably be okay just as a place to stay.

That is a bad part of town and like an earlier poster said, not in a real "happening" area for Spring Break like downtown or West End would be. If you don't have a problem staying somewhere that is a mile or two out of downtown and in a seedy area, you'd be better off heading a few blocks down Lebanon Road and checking this place out. At least it would be fun and interesting:

I stayed at the Alexis Inn without the wife and kid when interviewing for a job. It's old and run down, but cheap and safe. Remembering back to my Spring Break days, you're only looking for a place to sober up until the next day anyway. This place works.

I stayed at the Drury Inn when I visited. It was not expensive and very clean and new inside. A friend that worked for Hotels.com got for me and it was a very nice place to stay close to shopping and restuarants in Nashville.

Okay, I checked out Drury hotels. What do you mean not expensive? Each room was at least $120 a night! That is pretty expensive if you compare to other places like La Quinta that is only 50 bucks a night.

What about the La Quintas?

There is one on Atrium Way, and one on 4311 Sidco Drive.? Are these good areas?
