Hendersonville is probably the biggest bang for you buck. There is some neat development in the Indian Lake area. If you are looking in Nolensville, I believe Burkitt place falls in your price point. However, I would also suggest you look at taxes in Nolensville vs. Hendersonville. I have heard tell that Nolensville has a higher property tax base.

I think you'll find Nolensville fits your criteria quite well. We live in Stonebrook (slightly older homes but bigger yards) and have really great neighbors. We're also enthused about the new Town Hall and circumventing shops as they'll all be within walking distance for Stonebrook residents - currently I can easily walk to the post office, the local Mexican restaurant, dentist, doctor, chiropractor, etc. Nolensville also gets you Williamson County Schools, which I'd take over any other public school system in Middle Tennessee hands-down. Furthermore, Nolensville is unique from most places becasue it's still a small town where there is real community among families (lots of festivals, events and the like). Am I sounding like a recruiter? Perhaps. Hendersonville is not a bad choice at all. I have a couple of friends there. They have the benefit of the lake, but the commute and even the weekend traffic was a turnoff for me.

Forgot to mention GoGreen's comments. If you're an agent, you should have this at your fingertips. Not sure what the tax base is in H'Ville, but Nolensville is quite low. My property is assessed somewhere in the upper $200s, call it $275K and my property taxes are $1,536 per year - not bad at all, especially considering my kids go to the best public schools in Middle Tennessee. Their teachers are also neighbors, so people stay uh hum, let's say involved. Additionally, I can get to the airport almost entirely on countryside roads in less than 30 minutes, whereas in H'Ville you'll be navigating and subject to the whims of Vietnam Veterans Bypass.
