Hey everyone, I just moved here about 4 months ago, and I have been to Hollywood 27 movie theaters a couple times since I came here, but tonight I went there to see Hot Tube Time Machine around 7pm..It's a Friday night....well I am used to police being in places doing off duty security jobs sometimes, but tonight was weird I saw the 2 cops that were inside both taking a head count or something. I mean they were looking at everyone who walked by and writing things down on a notepad.

I was just wondering if this is normal for this movie theater, or if it's normal in Nashville for cops to be writing down on a note pad as if they were taking a head count at places like the movies around here?

Just seemed weird because they weren't doing what cops "usually" do

Um...yeah that seems a bit odd. Hollywood 27 isn't the safest of spots, I admit, but I've been to a few movies (even late nighters) there in the past 5 years and don't recall a major police presence there. Certainly no one counting... Maybe the theater has had problems with fire code violations and they were just making sure they were compliant?

Yeah I don't know...it was weird. I think I'm going to go back there this Friday to see if the same thing is going on.

I cannot stand the Hollywood 27 due to the hoodlums that go there. It's a horrible theater. So, nothing there would shock me.

I guess you go at the same time as "the hoodlums." I have never thought it was horrible and it is my theater of choice actually due to the size and schedule of movies.

Try a matinee. I have been there occasionally but mostly matinee as I have three small children or very rarely a weeknight dinner time movie with my wife as we do netflix at home mostly.

Dont think I have ever been there on a Fri/Sat night.... so that could be the reason for our opposing views.

We lived in Antioch back when Hollywood 27 first opened and stopped going there for weekend shows after only a few visits. Matinees and weekdays were fine but a whole 'nother element came out on Friday and Saturday nights. Crowds loitering in the middle of the street so you can't drive around them, cars stopped in the middle of the road talking to people and blocking traffic, screaming and extremely loud conversations and arguments in and outside the theater, etc. Don't know what it's like now, tho.
