Hi, my family and I are looking to move to Lebanon, or he surrounding area. I am going to be starting a job there, and we would like to live as close as possible (at most around 30 minutes). We are on a tight budget, but we would like to rent a 3 bedroom house. Are there areas of Lebanon that we should avoid? Should we avoid it all together? My wife will be staying at home with our two little kids, so safety is a HIGH priority. I would like to be in a neighborhood that she can just go out with them for a walk and not feel scared. Any info would be very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks.

Lebanon has the typical sprawling city limits, so avoiding everything with a Lebanon address is painting with too broad of a brush, there are many very nice areas. But if safety is top priority, as a rule you'll want to avoid the "city" parts of town, although there are some nice pockets west of US 231. That still leaves the outskirts, and all of Wilson County is within a 30-minute drive, so you have a lot of options. There aren't a lot of surprises; if a neighborhood and its surrounding area looks nice or looks rough, it probably is.

i live in lebanon. i consider it a pretty safe place. i live north of the city limits right on US 231 and its a pretty safe area, with only a 5 minute drive into lebanon with decent traffic. basically if youre looking for safety, you can find plenty of safe subdivisions around the border or outside the city limits.
