Nature is so wonderful
Cleaning up all the debris from the ice storm we had in late Feb this year on the Plateau of Tennessee and other spring trimming I have a 10 ton burn pile 8--10 feet tall 20 some odd feet around.. While taking another break a beautiful Eastern Meadowlark started Serenading me only 10 feet away just singing to his would be mate..
I will wait till after the nesting season before I set fire to it..
Play the audio clip in the link.. Tennessee Watchable Wildlife | Eastern Meadowlark

hey-glad you're waiting. That pile will provide a lot of shelter for all kinds of creatures. And maybe some food for the ones that eat bugs.

Never heard an eastern meadowlark before.

Good stuff, Tin Man. I just said to hubby yesterday how I was treated to a delightful symphony the other morning. I just stood outside, drinking my morning coffee, listening to dozens of birds, all calling and singing. It was a great way to start the day.

We too, have a huge pile of old branches and brambles that we actually created for the birds to hide and nest in. It is back by the wood line, and they seem to love it.
