Wouldn't it be the rational thing to exterminate all monkeys since they gave us HIV, EBOLA and ZIKA virus? What do monkey contribute the the ecosystem? Would it really hurt the ecosystem? Is it really worth the risk to allow the monkeys to live any longer? The could be the death of us all.

I could do a reverse thought on this. Why doesn't the animal kingdom rise up against us and kill us all off for constantly assaulting Mother Nature and the planet, causing the extinction of thousands of species and burning off the rain forests? Putting enough plastic in the oceans that by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than there are fish?

You're being optimistic. It won't happen. Isn't the most reasonable thing to do for our most fit species to kill off the monkeys? What type of impact would if have on the ecosystem though? Do monkeys help spread pollen to trees and have seeds drop to new places in their poop and stuff like that?

Exactly. What bigpaul said. Why would anyone even think of killing off their ancestors?

You have just disproved the common saying that there are no stupid questions!

It might, if it were true. HIV is believed to have come from chimpanzees (which are not monkeys). The reservoir for Ebola is bats. Zika was first isolated in a monkey but that does not mean that is the reservoir since it could have gotten it from a mosquito biting another animal before it bit the macaque.
