Thanks for the reminder.........beautiful full moon here in the Ozarks of north Arkansas.

(full moon ).......reminds me of the teacher asking the class which is more important...sun or moon?

All the kids said " sun" except little Johnny.
When asked why, little Johnny said............" the moon sometimes shines at night and gives us light. The sun shines in the daytime when it already is light out "

Yesterday took a nephew to local park to see it from different perspective (than the light polluted suburbs) and then this evening visited a sister out in rural area and saw its glorious rise through the autumn trees with sparse leaves remaining. So cool and beautiful.

When I mentioned in astronomer terms it is a perigee syzygy moon my nephew said, "but pierogi's are half moon shaped"

It is. My wife and I both saw it just before sunset, and just after.

Beautiful.

I don't know if I'll be around in 2034 to see the next one, so I made it a point to see this one.

A rerun of 1948, Saw it back then no point in looking at a rerun-----------

Reality Check, I was only 8 years old in 1948 and really didn't pay any attention. I am very grateful to have been given another opportunity.

Outstanding. Even better the weather cooperated not a cloud in sight. I now live out in the boon docks far from any city lights. I might have failed to appreciate it in 1948, but tonight made up for it.

Gorgeous. Watched it rise over the Atlantic Ocean. Sky was cloudless. As a bonus, Venus was big and bright in the southwestern sky at the same time. And Mars was easily visible. A trifecta!

I'll be pretty old in 2034, so I figured DH and better see this one!

It will be 18 years before we see another full moon this bright. I'm glad it was clear here, so everyone in my city could appreciate it!

Nature just keep providing more and more lovely reasons why we should look up at the sky more often!
