Title says it all. My husband and I are NE natives, have lived 5 years in Kansas where there are many, many awesome acreage subdivisions for all price ranges - some with paved and some with gravel roads. We just can't recall seeing a lot of these back in NE...we'd like to get within an hour of Omaha and still have anywhere from 2-10 acres with a moderate home/land (200-250K) to raise the kiddos. If anyone has development names or recommendations please post. Thanks so much!!

Wihin one hour of which side of Omaha?

When it may take 20 to 30 minutes to get from the outskirts to downtown living at the N,S,E or W edge of town. . . that makes big differences in travel times.

Sorry for the lack of clarification. 60 minutes from the outskirts. I know that most, if not all of the following towns are closer than the 60 minute criteria, but we were thinking Fort Calhoun, Blair (probably too big for us), Louisville, Ashland, Wahoo, Valley, Yutan, Springfield (probably too close to city for us). Would really like to find something near Ashland or Wahoo. We want to be on the NE, not Iowa, side.

If you know where you want to look, talk to some realtors

knowing the area as you do helps, but i would encourage you to do some research on areas you might be thinking about. most of the towns now have websites, looking at community newspapers also give a feel of a community. i like the more unspoiled areas, those that havent become just extensions of the metro area. of course taxes can vary too, and thats another reason looking at the county and city websites can be useful. i sent you a private message with a bit more infor. good luck.

Default Acreage subdivision, under 95K.

I own 10+ between Blair and Ft. Calhoun that is for sale by owner. Great veiws, plenty of woods/hills for kids, privacy, and is part of a subdivision. There not home on the lot but the other lots in the division do have homes on them. City water, choice lot, perfect for a walk out. Kids in the division. If you are interested I will look for a post in the near future. I am not a realtor, was the second to buy in the division and have owned it for about 10 years.
