I am a resident of BC. There are two casinos outside the city limit, Railroad Pass, as you are driving to BC and the Hacienda as you drive toward the Dam. I'm not a gambler but the the reason I moved there was because I was single mom at the time and I liked the small town atmosphere. The whole town has everything within walking distance.

Default Great town!

BC is a great place to live. We have lived in the area for almost 7 years and the Las Vegas valley for the last 16+ years. We moved when our son was in middle school because we were disappointed w/ the constant re-zoning of schools and the size of the schools. It was a GREAT decision.
It is has a true community feel. People in the stores know your name and when you walk down the street people say "hello" to each other. when the local football team plays the whole town seems to show up. The schools are great (look up the stats on CCSD website) and have won national recognition. The have an extremely low drop-out rate (especially when looking at all other schools in Clark County) and fantastic and dedicated teachers and staff.
Most of the police are wonderful (maybe not if your into breaking the law). Most live in the community and genuinely care about the youth and the community they serve.
I feel safe walking alone at night and it's not unusual to forget to lock your care when your running into a store for a moment. On the weekends when I am home I put my car away and can ride my bike ANYWHERE! Don't need my car!
I love being close the the entertainment and shopping of LV and Henderson, but love being close to the lake and walking and biking trails in BC better. There are a few great, locally owned restaurants and some nice specialty and antique stores to explore. My husband loves the City golf course and drove out to BC to golf long before we moved there.
You do get less house in BC then in Henderson or LV. However, you also get more land, RV parking for most homes, a place for a garden? pool? whatever. Many of the homes are older as well, some built in the 30's and 40's which gives the community a little character IMO.
Enjoying living in BC will really depend on what you value and what your lifestyle is like???

Boulder city is like moving to California. Its bland, ever so pleasant, expensive, cops everywhere, everyone in your business, you get pulled over for going 1 mph over the speed limit. Its ugly once you live there a while. Vegas is much better.
