I was just wondering some of the areas that are nice to rent in up to 20 miles away from nashua? We have two smalls dogs as well and would love a yard I really would like space and nothing really downtown, I have been looking up as much info as possible and would just like some much needed input! have you checked out rentals on NNEREN.com : Home ? You don't say what your budget is, or where in Nashua he'll be working. Nashua is a big area and some towns are closer than others to different parts. For example: while New Ipswich and Wilton may be within 20 miles of Nashua... It can take close to an hour to get to southern nashua from there, or even just to downtown! though it may be only 20 minutes to sections on Rt 101.

You might try Milford or Hudson, or even Mont Vernon.

I believe Hanscom AFB (about 30 miles away) has a housing/relocation office that could probably provide some recommendations/maybe connect you with some other military folks who are renting a home after PCSing- may be worth giving them a shot.

Close to Amherst St there are a lot of options in Nashua. You can check places like Regent Park Apartments, Boulder Park Apartments and more.

You can also check Craigslist to find private houses for rent but they are few and difficult to find.

In general Amherst St is a commercial area, with nice residential neighborhoods off of it.

Other nearby towns would be Amherst, Milford, Hollis. Of those, the best bet to find something for rent is Milford.

You and everyone with dogs are going to have a tough time finding a rental that allows dogs. Landlords I know do not take dogs for liability issues.

So you are asking which towns are nice. Take anything that will take dogs.

Semper fidelis.

Hanscom will be your main support base for things like BX, Commissary, medical clinic, etc. If you're interested, I bet you might even be able to use their base housing. Your commute would be great - you'd be flowing in the opposite direction during the rush hours into and out of Boston from Nashua. I second the recommendation of looking up the Hanscom Housing office.

I dont think we will be living on the air force base thou but thanks for the suggestion, will check out there resources thou! What about the manchester area? are there places to stay away from in that area?, they seem to have the most rentals that allow animals. how about the courtyards that are apart of the ponds of nashua ? has anyone heard things about that place?

Default Hollis Crossing

There's a large tree-lined condo development called Hollis Crossing; it's in west Nashua off Broad St right on the border of Hollis. It would be a very easy commute to Amherst St where your husband will be working.

Hollis Crossing sits on something like 100 acres and borders the Nashua River. I've biked through there myself; the grounds are beautiful with plenty of trees and flowers. This area is very safe, I live less than a mile away in Hollis which is Nashua's "countrified" neighbor so you'd be close to farm stands, and appple/ strawberry & pumpkin picking.
As far as pets at Hollis Crossing, my SIL lived here years ago and she had a small dog. Another friend owned here and she had a cat. The one I just saw for rent ($1300) on CL says no pets but definitely look into this place and see if a pet-friendly unit is available.

Good Luck with the move!!! J
