Wow.. are people here actually saying NH offers good employment prospects?? Yes the unemployment rate is low but underemployment and otherwise low-paying jobs are the real problem; that only becomes apparent once you're there and you've got bills you can't pay.
New Hampshire's motto should be "A great place to visit."
The person who makes out the best financially in NH is someone who doesn't own a home. Rent, and you can enjoy all the benefits without having to pay for it. With one exception -- higher rents, I suppose. The reason there is low unemployment in NH is because a large percentage of people are self employed here.
Thanks guys .. The hubs did end up being able to go up and everything worked out with my job but after his visit and crunching numbers we realized its MUCH more expensive to live up there compared to here. We applied for a home loan and with our incomes and raise he just received (surprise we didn't even know) we can buy a very nice larger brand new home here so we've opted for that. We've decided to just take vacations up when we feel the itch
