there is a new sculpture park opening in Seattle that has a piece in it (Claes Oldenburg's Typewriter Eraser) that has a notice near it that photographing the piece is prohibited. But the piece is on a hillside overlooking a public road and can be seen from many public places around the park. should anyone be arrested for taking it's picture? I don't think so, but that's clearly just my opinion.
I agree with you buck naked. There are so many copyright laws out there. Some dont really make sense to me. Just here on the forum, we have to be careful what posters put up. We need to keep it legal.
