The only people who down Philly as lesser are the people who compare it to NYC. If you spend any time travelling around the US, you will quickly realize how cosmopolitan Philly actually is. I've had people from Montreal, Quebec, London and Germany comment on how Philly (at least the Center City area) has the most "European" vibe of any city in the US...hard to beat that endorsement, lol. NYC is in a whole different league though. NYC isn't just the largest American city, it's consistently ranked as the greatest city in the world. I like NYC, but I feel much more comfortable in Philly do to the accessibility. When it comes to hanging out, I've never had anyone who couldn't find what they were looking for in Philly and the fact that Philly is less expensive than NYC also helps.

The Philly vs NYC debate is a popular bar topic at Temple, but it isn't really fair. Brooklyn alone has twice the population of the City of Philadelphia. As you said, two different leagues.

Completely agree. That was my point. I actually prefer Philly to NYC for the European feel.
