I understand that all students in Cherry Hill are allowed to choose which high school to attend- East or West. Does anyone have a sense of how many kids who live in West choose to attend East? I'm concerned if we move to the West side - by the time high school rolls around my daughter is going to want to stay with her friends at CH West HS.

Thanks for any input!

I graduated from West in the last class from both sides of town. The demographics are different. They were then. They are now.

The schools are now geared to serve different types of students. If your child is artsy, your child will want to go to that high school. At least part of your child's friends will also be going to the same school for the same reason.

I attended West from 2000-2004, so my information may be a bit dated. Of all my friends, only one chose to go to East over West, and it was because of bullying. Both are great schools (right now, anyway.) I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but I'd be concerned more about where her friends are going. You don't really want to upset her social life if you don't have to.

It is a typical stereotypical rivalry. West is middle-class. East is middle-upper class.
