I'm finally leaving NJ and moving to Austin Tx. How can I get my car over there and where can I have it sent to ? I don't know anyone in Austin.. I'm going on my own and would like to fly out and uber to where ever my car is. I'm planning to leave in two weeks.

Any advice? I used to work work truck drivers that would sometimes put a car in their 53' trailer with whatever load they were also transporting. I've never shipped a car before so please help

Google auto transport services. You have a scheduled pick up location and time. Your car is loaded onto a vehicle trailer with other cars and you say goodbye. They then give you a pick up location. They cannot give you an exact delivery date only a few day spread. runs about $1000. Our cost from NJ to WA was $1200 per car. If any company's quote is way lower than that and too good to be true then run away!

When you pick up your car it will be filthy. Its the nature of the beast as it is exposed to the elements all the way to TX. They have you sign a paper when you pick up the car. READ IT CAREFULLY. Sometimes the fine print can get you. Like if you sign it and there is damage to your car you are SOL because down a the bottom it says when you sign it releases them from all liability.

You can also pay 2x-3x as much to have your car on an enclosed trailer but most of the time the people that use this service are transporting sports cars, antique cars or racing cars.

Be sure to remove your EZ Pass transponder, if you have one, before it ships. I have heard of people paying tolls all the way from NJ to Florida... Good luck getting that money back.

Best of luck in your new home!
