Hello All:

I am looking for feedback on the 55+ or Assisted Living communities in Central NJ. We have looked into a place called DEEP RUN in Cream Ridge and we are currently looking into ROSSMORE in Monroe.

Any suggestions? Your feedback? Is there a "good" Assisted Living community that you know of?

I feel that a Assisted Living facility would be a better match for their needs but they don't agree. I realize that Deep Run is not A.L but is Rossmore?

I have a great Agent in my backpocket already. I'm just doing my own inquiry while he is doing his homework.

Rossmore is not assisted living- it's just age-restricted (unless they've added some AL units). My mother has several friends who have moved there, and they're all in standard housing- no assistance.

Monroe is famous on lots of such nice communities. Helen who just sold her Edison Hollow South condo as she has retired and no longer need to walk to Edison Train Station to commute, and shop a lot at Monroe area and other locations. She said that she found around dozen communities she like.

Also, because, there are not too many kids in town, Monroe tends to be with lower property tax. But, many communities require 55+. These communities have many special facilities taking into account the need for active adults. I would not make any decision until checking out what is there in Monroe.

Default Spinnaker Pointe in Parlin

I live in a townhome very near a 4 year old development called Spinnaker Pointe in Parlin. The residents LOVE it. Around 160 attractive single family homes, gorgeous pool, clubhouse, etc... If you have a boat it is great because it's near three marinas. There are three or four for sale right now. There is also a builder in Marlboro with 55+ new construction.

Go to Regal Homes for info. on Marlboro community.

Post Thanks

Thanks for the info on Spinmaker Pointe & Regal Homes. Unfortunetly, both are out of our comfort zone in pricing. We are ooking for something small, simple, basic & relatively inexpensive. I plan on paying an official visit to Rossmore myself. I was hoping to chat w/ actual residents or family member of residents. Thanks to Bob for the feedback.

Thank you too, ehs - I have resided in Central NJ for over 40 years. I don't visit Edison, ever and I don't know Helen. I'm very familiar with Monroe & the abundance of 55+ residence, hence, that's why I am inquiring about Rossmore.
