I know this is going to be a really hard question to answer but I am planning a bachelorette party weekend in Niagara Falls and have to figure out how to transport 5-10 girls from NJ to Ontario.
Anyone know how much it would be to get a limo or party bus to bring us abck and fourth? Anyone have any recommendations?
I lease my car so I can not take mine and nobody really wants to drive. The bus is 11 hours for a 7 hour drive....
If you dont mind, can I ask a question..?. Its just 9 hrs drive from NJ to Niagara. You say there are 5 ppl per car (assuming two cars), I think its more easy n fun for each of them to drive 2 hrs. If atleast 2 or 3 of them know driving, then its still just 3 hrs per person, isnt that great??. The I-84 route is usually awesome during Fall season.
1. Plane to Buffalo and rent a car or take a bus from airport.
2. Bus from NYC to Niagara falls
3. Train from NYC to Niagara falls
4. Car
I recommend #1 but it ain't cheap. Jetblue from NYC to Buffalo is about 200 bucks around trip and flight is about 40-50 min pending weather (non-stop). Once you get there you could rent a car or take a bus that goes to Niagara falls. But it is fastest and least tiring way to get to Niagara falls.
#2 and #3 I recommend you avoid because it's crowded, long, tiring, and not fun. Cheapest way to Niagara falls is #2 though. I believe megabus and Chinese bus from nyc to there for cheap but I high recommend against it.
#4 is probably most fun since you can stop by lot of places on the way if you girls aren't short on time. Depending on how fast you drive and route you take it could be short as 5-6 hrs or long as 10+ hrs. I'm speaking from personal experience about driving time. If you do drive, splitting car rental cost between number of people will make it more affordable. Just watch out on mileage unless you get a package or rent from a place that doesn't charge by miles.
And yes you will rack up huge miles if you go on your lease car.
Have fun! Stay on Canadian side and make sure you bring your passports. US side is still boring even with casino opened on Us side. If you have time, check out Toronto. It's about 1.5 hour away from Niagara falls and it is awesome place to party. Just make sure you google and look for clubs and events before if you do go to Toronto.

Renting a chauffered vehicle for that amount of time will be cost prohibitive. I think the cheapest route is going to be to rent a van for the trip and take turns driving. After that I would look at taking the train.
I think we are going to rent a van. We wanted to avoid more then 1 car since the hotels charge you for parking and we all kind of wanted to be together so we could have fun while we are driving.
It is like $600 + gas to rent the car so it is really not that bad per person. Thanks for all the responses so quickly. If anyone has anywhere they would recommend for sightseeing that would be great. We are staying on the Canadian side at the Sheraton on the falls.

this completely depends on where in NJ...maybe Southern Ocean/Cape May counties - I'm about 6 hrs away.

Not that you would rent a 15 or 18 passenger van, but just as a FYI, most major rental companies will not rent them in NY or allow them to be operated in NY without voiding the insurance. NY has some weird liability regs in regards to these vans. I only mention it since you were talking about maybe having 10 people and I thought you might consider getting a 15+ passenger for the extra room. If this is the case check with the rental company about what the coverage is in NY state.
