Your right I didn't post them that's why I said go to any site of your choosing that compares cities and you will get the facts. Just like Tommyc didn't post proof supporting his case either.

Also he didn't say post them either he just asked for me to look them up, hence why I said I already did.

"Any site of your choosing that compares cities"
doesn't have separate crime stats for different neighborhoods. But apparently, you have some knowledge on what the crime rate specifically in downtown Jersey City is. So here I am calling your bluff.

The closest I'm aware of to this is that there are crime maps (e.g. Newark, NJ Crime Map - Showing Crimes in Newark - Crime Statistics, Alerts and Reports - Crime Stops Here Mapping Out Crime | Hudson County - - NJ.com) but I haven't seen break downs by neighborhood or zip code.

You claim to have looked up the numbers. So do tell, where did you look them up ? Because I think you're just making it up as you go, and that you didn't look up any numbers.

Copy and pasting tables doesn't work very well here. Would you post a link to the page(s) you got this from ?

I have no idea how to post this so it looks like a chart so here's this anyway. First # is Hoboken , Second is 07302(downtown JC) Third # is national avg. Taken from clrsearch.com its pretty easy to navigate and get the two zips up for comparison.

Don't be a wise a** I gave you your stats and website, look em up. And my question to you is what makes Tommyc's argument that Hoboken and downtown JC have similar crime rates more valid then mine?

I don't know how they construct their "index" but they are not good numbers. Sorry for getting on your case, but I really did think you were just making things up (it didn't occur to me that you were misled by a bad source)

According to this site, the "murder risk" for Greenville (07305) is lower than downtown Jersey City.

A casual perusal of a homicide map shows that this is not true -- the vast majority of homicides in Jersey City are in Greenville. Based on this map, it looks like the only homicide in downtown was at a housing project on the outskirts of the downtown.

There is nothing terribly special about 2008 except for the fact that this was the first year that came up when I searched -- it's pretty consistently the case that there are large numbers of homicides and other violent crime in Greenville and around some of the projects, and much lower numbers elsewhere.

Hahahaha figures, trying to find a loop hole. Go ahead and look up any city on there the numbers are close. So now that I've shown proof, and this is as good as its gonna get because if I post more Im sure you'll sit up all night with a fine tooth comb trying to find something, why exactly is my argument not as valid as Tommyc's? And why are you jumping on my case? It's funny how hard your trying and thinking I've been lead by a false source, your fun.

I'm being serious though why are you trying to jump on me for saying that Downtown JC has more crime than Hoboken? Tommyc gave no more proof to his argument than I did in the beginning of the convo. I don't see how its that insane to you both that Downtown has more crime, essp violent crime. I'm not taking a stab at JC I'm simply making a point.
