The PATCO isn't extending , the only thing that will happen to it is Franklin SQ reopening , which is a part of the Waterfront LRT / Redevelopment project. And the PATCO car refurbishment which is underway as we speak. They will only be Light Rail and Regional Rail extensions in South Jersey from now on....it will be a slow pace compared to NNJ , 3 projects per decade.....but it will get done eventually. The Pennsuaken Transfer Station is halfway completed. As for SE PA....well if Harrisburg would get its act together and fund Septa properly alot of there projects would be underway. Septa has plans for a decent amount of things over the next few decades , but nothing compared to its neighbors and its very slow at doing things..
where will the broad street line extend to??? that will be awesome!!!!!! Why is is SEPTA so far behind???

I would assume the Cape May Branch would be one the least expensive projects compared to a lot of the other rail line projects. NJT already owns the rail tracks and the Cape May Shorelines, so why is this project not even in its study phase?

There is support for this line and all the others in South Jersey , strangely no funding. But same can be said for the Highway and Bridge projects... NJT is currently upgrading all the Stations along the Atlantic line and building the Pennsuaken Transfer station. But there's so much more they can do for cheap. The cost to restoring service to CM and Wildwood was 150 Million $$. The Glassboro line will cost 500 Million , that will probably be built before the CM line is.

I think the West Trenton line is a great idea - but I don't know if it would ever get off the ground considering how strongly people in the Hopewell area oppose anything that might make the area less rural. These are the same people that are behind the reason I-95 was never done. Even if there already IS track in place, I can still see some kind of huge huge fight.

I'm surprised you don't have any proposed stations between Jersey Ave and Princeton Junction listed. North Brunswick has been trying to get a station at the old JNJ facility off Rt. 1 on the Northeast corridor line for a couple years now. Considering the track is there, the land is there (or easily acquired) it seems like it should be an easy task.

Adding stations would just slow down the line. Now if you want to talk about adding more local bus service to the stations...

That station is not happening.

What they need to do is put a platform on the eastbound side of Jersey Ave via some kind of pedestrian bridge. There are plenty of empty warehouses on the eastbound side that they could aquire, bulldoze and add parking, hell they could keep the warehouses and make it indoor parking. Not sure why the Jersey Ave station is the red headed stepchild of the NEC line. Fare is the same from New Brunswick, we should have the same service and accessibility. At a MINIMUM they should add Jersey Ave to the Princeton Junction Express trains during peak times,

NYP > Newark Penn > New Brunswick > Jersey Ave > Princeton Junction > Hamilton > Trenton

The Jersey Ave station seriously has a completely bizarre layout. I've never understood why it's not a normal station like the rest of the Northeast Corridor.

Another station between NB and Princeton Junction wouldn't be a bad idea - but there really needs to be a way to tie it into bus service to reduce traffic on Rt. 1.
