There are several modes of transport in the area.
PATH train runs from Newark to NYC, is relatively inexpensive about $2.
NJ Transit operates trains and buses.

Search under PATH and NJ Transit, their websites will give you details.

You will have to take a bus to Newark Penn Station. It varies depending on exactly where your hotel is. The fare to Newark Penn Station is $1.50 (if you are staying here for a while, you can get a weekly pass)

You can use njtransit.com's Trip Planner to help plan your trips.

At Newark Penn Station, you can take the PATH to Manhattan for $1.75 (or $18 for a weekly pass). See panynj.gov/path for details.

You can also take a commuter rail train (run by NJ Transit) directly to NY Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan for $5.

Good luck and enjoy your stay in (or should I say near) the Big Apple!

Airport parking is the best, and so much affordable when off-site from the airport- just off the NJ Turnpike, by the airport, there are quite a few gated, long-term lots, and they drop you off, pick you up before/after your flight !!

I LOVE it ! I used to take car service, never again ! Not since I discovered off-site parking !!

so i just spent a week in florida. i originally booked a round trip on united. but due to my daughters dance recital, i needed to change the flight to later the same day. with the fees, changing my flight would have cost more than buying a new flight. so i bought a new one and just didn't show for the one i originally paid for. i get the the airport yesterday and find out that they canceled my return flight because i didn't show for my original flight. now, i realize that since airlines will nail you any chance they get; i should have called to tell them my plan. but i still don't think you can cancel my flight because i was a no show for an earlier flight. i paid for both ways and never got any money back. anyone have this happen to them? they basically said im screwed and offered me absolutely nothing. im not planning on just giving up at this point.

This is pretty standard airline policy, although it's not necessarily known by those who don't fly that often. If you miss a flight on a multi-segment (including round-trip return flight) reservation, the remainder of the reservation is automatically cancelled.

I'd want something back too. That's not fair at all. Ps you'd do better starting a new thread because this has not much to do with the original subject

but im not sure that just because its their policy, it stands up to a legal challenge. im planning to roll my dice in small claims court. the airline people kept trying to logically give me a reason why I deserve to be out of luck. but its not logical other than "its our policy." I liked the line they used where they figured I didn't depart so I don't need to come back. well, that logic doesn't exactly work since there I am standing in florida needing to come back. so clearly I made it out there.
