Hello all,

I am looking for inputs to live in south/central New Jersey.

The situation is : Husband works in wilmington and I work(3 days a week) in NYC(downtown Brooklyn). is there a middle ground where we can settle down on so that husband can drive down to wilmington and I can take the public transport (NJ transit??)to NYC?

Or will this whole idea be extremely hectic on us, in which case husband will give up the new job in wilmington.

Thank You!

Do you guys think it is actually possible to commute daily to NYC(using public transport) and drive down to wilmington from these areas? I'm mainly concerned about this, the rents/cost of living etc does not really worry me.

It's not going to be easy and will certainly take long (especially yours), so if it's possible for your hubby to find work in a different area, I would explore that first. I just wouldn't want the stress of it unless absolutely neccessary.

Not efficient, but throwing this out: Live in Wilmington and take Acela Express to NYC. Or Philadelphia and take regular Amtrak. If it is on time the Acela is 1.5 hours (plus time to get to brooklyn).

Between gas+parking+tolls for both, could come out similarly priced. One short commute/less stress. The other would most likely be more comfortable/productive on the Acela.
