hate crime is a joke, if he filmed a guy and girl having sex and if either of them jumped and died, no one would pay attention. did he invade someone's privacy? yes....but thats about it
He was here legally but is a citizen of India. As he is not a US citizen and was here on a visa they can (and probably will) deport him once he gets out of jail.

According to The New Yorker article he came to the U.S. as a child. If he had taken a plea deal he would have been deported. The article stated that he took the chance on a jury trial in the hope of being found not guilty and avoiding deportation.
this is absolutely disgusting. this is what happens when you source your jurors from the lowest levels of society. we need professional jurors, not morons who cant get out of service, unemployed degenerates and government employees. the most decent set of jurors are retired people but the smartest of those probably get out of it usually.
Not that it matters but I am proud to have sat on a jury and did not try to get out of it. I am not a moron, an unemployed degenerate or a government employee.
I find it disgusting when people (clearly like you) try to lie and weasel their way out of 1 of their only civic duties.

I was wondering why the did'nt let evidence showing letters that tyler was also angry at his mom for not accepting he was gay. That could have been one of the motivating mitgating factors in his suicide in Dharun's trial.

The suicide really was not part of the trial at all. It all came down to whether or not Ravi did what he did because he hated gay people. The suicide certainly cast a long shadow over the trial and I'm sure was on the forefront of peoples minds, but again, the trial was never about "did Ravi's actions make Clementi commit suicide?"
To that end, there is more evidence than not at this point to suggest that Clementi had been contemplating suicide long before this incident.
Hate, like love and other human senses is never any crime. We are born with and will always have value judgements and biases.
