My family is looking to move to Ridgewood, NJ. However, after some research I know that some areas are prone to flooding. Does South Ridgewood by the Saddle River Pathway flood? Hawes Elementary School District?

Many thanks!!!!

If you look at a house, just ask if it is in the flood plain. Glen ave by the fire department floods pretty badly.

I live next door in Glen Rock and so Saddle River park goes thru our town as well. Last year's hurricane Irene was not a pretty sight and many areas around the park did indeed flood and cause damage. However, we're talking about a pretty big hurricane. But historically I don't know as I haven;t lived in the area long enough. Make sure to ask the neighbors when you find a home you really like.

Hope this will help: the map of homes(with street names and house numbers) in flood plain. It's for the year of 2006 though I don't think the village has updated ever since. http://www.ridgewoodnj.net/pdf/engin...arch232006.pdf
