Is it safe enough for me to renew my license and update my registration at the 438 Summit Avenue location?

Yes, but if you ask to change your address they'll shank you.

Yes that DMV is safe, I go there from time to time because they work faster then the North Bergen location. The only downside is that there is no parking lot so you need to either pay for parking at one of the lots or park on one of the side streets and walk over.

the bayonne location still open? i found that one much easier to park at since it's in a strip mall and the lines to be much shorter.

I went yesterday. I parked in lot, which cost me $15. I didn't have any problems other than the line was long.

The one tip a dmv worker gave me once was to avoid the last and first week of each month because those are the most crowded. People tend to wait till the last minute.
