NJ.com: Everything Jersey

This article comes on the heels of last week's article which stated 231,000 have left the state since 2002. Again, I call attention to this because it is somewhat personalized: most cited in this poll the reason to leave is purely economical. This is specifically why I left. Most don't leave NJ because they want to, but because they can't afford the price increases any longer.

First off, I love this state and will pay the extra cost to live here, but unfortunately many are not in a position to do this. It's sad that this state puts so much effort into making sure the non-taxpayers are comfortable staying here at the cost of the middle class. If we lost 231,000 non-taxpayers, we would be in great shape, but they will never leave because they will never get the social programs and benefits in another state, except maybe NY or MA. Instead we are losing the people that actually pay their own way because it is just getting too expensive for them.

We are also losing jobs because our brilliant politicians decided it would be a great idea to over tax corporations too. A recent article in the Star Ledger had us ranked like 49th business friendly state.

It's time we elect people that are going to stop worrying about the parasites of society and start worrying about the people that pay the state's bills.

I'm not holding my breath.
