It's very heavily hispanic and the schools aren't the greatest compared to other neighboring towns. Crime rate is higher than other nearby towns as well.
Right next door are Denville, Rockaway and Randolph which are all great towns with good schools. It all really depends on your housing budget which town would be a good fit. How long ago did your dh live in Dover?

I am currently trying out living in Jacksonville, FL while my family is still up in Randolph, NJ, which borders Dover.
With a family like yours, I would recommend living in Randolph, Chester, Mendham, Rockaway, Denville and Long Valley. Excellent schools. They're all within a reasonable drive to Dover.
It depends on what you want to spend for a house. But it might be a perfect time to buy, since the prices are a bit lower now. In these areas, I bet they won't stay down for long and should appreciate in the coming years again.
I love living in Jacksonville now. My wife and son came down for a week to try it out and they loved it as well. So we were about 90% decided on moving down to Jacksonville. A month ago.
Then I went back to NJ for a long weekend and ...... had so much fun playing in the yeard, chatting with our neighbors, having a barbeque, having lunch/dinner at our favorite restaurants, etc... Now we're back on the fence ..... we're not so sure about leaving NJ for FL.
