It seems to be by Elmora... it's a residential area locked between Jersey Ave to the North, Rahway Ave to the South, Elmora Ave to the East and Warinanco Park to the West. Is this a safe area?

Also how is public trans access to NYC like?

I'm not interested in knowing about rents or housing since that is already settled.

It is still one of the safer neighborhoods. you "can" walk to the train but it might be a bit sketchy at night. I would not recommend the smaller apt buildings. The bigger ones on North Ave, on Cherry St, Halsey House aren't so bad.

Would you say it's okay for a young female to walk around alone? And is the walk to the train very far?

From Elmora to the train station in Elizabeth is quite far of a walk, really. Overall its a pretty good section of town but you might wind up taking a bus to the train station. Decades ago there was a train station near there, part of the NJ central line but then that got rerouted between Cranford and Roselle Park into Union direct to Newark. Used to be trains running that way when we where all kids, lol, into the old Jersey Central station in Elizabeth.
