Did anyone in Mercer County see the location of this traffic incident live and know this intersection well.
I would like to add that, no matter how hurried you are, its always better to be patient & respectful while driving. Yesterday night, a guy without headlights on almost crashed into me hurriedly blowing through a stop sign a 35 mph when I clearly had the right of way.
Yes, it is very sad It is unfortunate that these things happen. I work in claims, and in many cases if people would just slow down, and drive a little more defensively, most of these unfortunate incidents could have been avoided.

I'm at school right now, but I drove past that intersection at least 3 times a week when I was still home.
There's nothing out of the ordinary about it. Easily a driver error on the part of either the wagon or truck driver. Judging by the impact pictures and the police report, it may have been the wagon driver's fault.
I am very sorry to say, but jersey drivers are making crazier mistakes while driving by the day. Today, I was driving along 287 when there was exceptionally high truck traffic. Hence, I moved over to the left lane to pass the array of slow moving trucks. A black car behind me was mad that I was going a bit slow due to all the big rigs waving a bit into my lane and decided to take the risk of overtaking me to the right, and forcing his way just inches in front of my car and almost slamming into the back of a Freightliner hauled CMA & CGM container from Port Reading.
I usually never honk my horn as its a sign of impatience, but at 68 mph, it was a bit difficult for me to expect such a daring move by a driver and ended up tooting my horn to warn him of unsafe driving. By any means, I was not trying to be a left lane hog and wanted to be a bit careful while crossing the array of overloaded trucks to my right.
I'm not sure, but a 2000 Hyundai probably doesn't have side airbags either, especially in the rear. Of course, not everyone can afford a new(er) car, but with kids, it'd be nice to see curtain airbags.
I also wonder if the car seat was installed properly.
