Does anyone know why a taxi from Newark airport costs SO much. Cost about $65 just to get to Cedar Grove/Montclair area. this is ridiculous. any suggestions on other taxi companies/buses/shuttles etc??

Also anyone know of any good, cheap long term parking lots? I know the airport parking is like $18/day which is outrageous!

Take a Bloomfield Avenue bus into Bloomfield Center in front of Watsessing Park and transfer to the Go28. It makes limited stops and takes a half hour to get to the terminals and it's just over $3 altogether. Plus the Go28 has luggage racks: New Jersey Transit

We've used the "E-Z Way" parking at Crowne Plaza hotel just outside the airport for years.

Its typically $8 or $9 per day

Airport Parking Discount Coupon for Newark International Airport EWR. E-Z-Way Airport Valet Parking

E-Z Way Parking EWR
901 Spring Street
Elizabeth, NJ 07201
Phone: (908) 994-1999

As the alternate we've used the ABC parking right next door to above (afaik they are run by same mgmt).

A.B.C. Parking for Newark Liberty Airport
819 Route 1 9 North
Elizabeth, NJ 07201
Phone: (908) 354-3444

Airport Parking Coupon for ABC Parking at Newark/Liberty Airport EWR (http://www.longtermparking.com/COUPONS/cpabcewr.htm - broken link)

Both have great (and SHORT) transport to the airport and pickup when you return. Also pretty safe to park.
Easiest in and out whether I travel alone or with the entire family+bags+strollers etc.

We have also used the Corporate Airport parking at EWR and Vista and Avistar etc in the past - but found them slower/longer (and more expensive) in general. And this is even when the parking charges are paid by company/corporate expense.

I personally would listen to marv95 on this one dont bother with parking or the taxi just use the Go28 bus the go28 bus is fast beacause it runs with limited stops along the way. There really is no faster way other than this line.

The schedule for the go28 is available here: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0028.pdf

Service from Watsessing Park runs every 15-20 minutes (it doesn't matter whether the bus travels via Broad Street or University Heights).

If you can time the schedules, you can also take the Montclair-Bontoon Line to from a station in Montclair to Bloomfield, and then take the go28 from there.

Here's the schedule: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0028.pdf

Does anyone know of a safe, relatively cost-efficient, long-term parking storage facility near Newark airport? I am going to the west coast this summer for a little over a month and need to store my car in a locked, safe facility. Thanks.

Dear Friends!
We are a family of 5 from Norway, plannng to stay in one of the hotels near Newark International Air port starting from mid july for two weeks. Our plan is to visit New York city by being stationed in New Jersey. We did chose to do this because we have been adviced that we could save money if we find a place of sojourn outside New York City. Right now we need a genuine advice regarding how we should organise our trips to New York city, especially regarding transportation. We would appreciate your tips of any kind, from dining places in Newark to shopping areas and you name it.
Thanking you in anticipation.
