Does anyone remember Murray's Laurel Lake in Montvale, NJ? I remember it from the 60's, but it has long since been turned into a corporate park. Does anyone have any good pictures of it? I always think about it and would love to see some pictures if anyone has any. Thanks.

Default Murrays, Laurel Lake memories

Although I do not have any photos, I have a tremendous amount of memories of Laurel Lake. From the 1960's - 1970's I and many of my neighborhood friends would spend our summer days at the lake. Great times swimming and playing raft tag in the deep end. Also diving and doing flips off the high board. I remember that huge fountain in the middle of the lake. Also, playing frisbee down in the grassy part of the parking lot. Hanging out in the dance hall. I could go on and on. Unfortunately they did close the lake in the late 1970's and it is now home to a corporate park. But those memories will always be with me.

Do I remember laurel Lake? I sure do - it was my life for many Summers. I worked there from 1959 thru 1965. What wonderful memories. Are you looking for any information from the previous life guards or food stand people?

I remember many weekends in the summer as a child going to Laurel Lake with our entire family, not just my sisters but my cousins, aunts, & uncles. We would bring food to put on the grill, play baseball in the field that was there, swim (of course) and just have the best days there. Does any one have any pictures of the lake? I've looked on line and there is only one and boy did it bring back memories.

Talking Fond Memories

Not only do I have some pics of Laurel Lake- I even have an old movie reel; showing some of the "guys" (some lifeguards) diving off the high board. I lived 1 block away; and we were season pass members forever! I even found an old membership card at my moms- we were family #88 - My friends and I thought we were the coolest gang there! Rain or Shine- if it was open-we were there. Playing cards; football in the lower field, hanging at the dance hall. Made MANY great friends, from all over the NJ/NY area. If any of you are one of them- Hello! Tami, Patty, Johnny, Jimmy, John, Bill, Jim, Anthony, Louie, Eddie, Kenny, and my 1st love- Frankie. Ah the memories!! I cried when Mr. Murrays kids sold it off-But I am grateful for the many summers I had....Wish I could've shared it with my own children....If I can find the pics- I'll add them soon-Those WERE the days!!!!!! ~S

Laurel Lake was awesome - spent my childhood summers there; I remember always having at least two great family picnic's (table number 7142). Those were good times.
