Yes, these lists are really getting to the point of being bizarre.
And, for those who actually want to use this list for some purpose, listing towns like "Raritan" and "Franklin"--whose names are duplicated in more than one county--makes it possible to know exactly which municipality is being referred to in some cases.

They should come up with a list that would be relevant to City Data posters...something like

"The 100 towns with the easiest commute to New York City with low property taxes, walkable downtowns, blue ribbon schools, that are close to nature and shopping with houses in the $400,000 range."

If we want to make that list friendly for folks coming from remote parts of The US, it should probably list
towns with houses in the $200,000 range. Isn't that closer to the expectations of many people from afar who post NJ-centric questions?

Of course, instead of 100 towns, that list would more likely state that there are no towns with those attributes.

How are Jersey City and New Brunswick so low?

Those are 2 of the top 5 places I think of when I think of bars.

Butler #6? The place is like a hole in the wall with maybe 2 bars in town.

This is obviously stupid any way you look at it...but Summit at #61, even a contender? There's only one bar in town, and every single restaurant is BYOB! (This is bizarre for me coming from VT and MA, where they're usually happy to charge you for drink with your meal.)

Also, 100 towns? Aren't there just 300 towns or so in the whole state?

How could Hoboken not be #1? There is a bar every 50 feet and it's the only town in NJ where I have seen people vomit in the street from intoxication on random weekend nights...
