I just placed my first order with "Shop Rite at Home" - anyone use this? Any hints or tips for the future? It almost seems too good to be true - it was so easy. They also deliver, but I'm too cheap to spring for the extra $10.
Been doing it for quite some time...it works out pretty good...they even call with questions re out of stock items /substitutions etc. They bring the stuff right out and even put it in your car !!

yeah, i saw that! way cool. question: there were items that are in the flyer as "on sale" but didn't show up as on sale when I placed my order. i put a note at the bottom of the order for them to check - has this ever been an issue for you?
also, how do they handle coupons? do they take them inside to adjust your bill or do they have those little handheld thingys like at a car rental?
I had a coworker who lived in Jersey City who used the service alot and really liked it. It worked great for him and his girlfriend because they ate out alot and really were just ordering staple items. I'd think if you were more of a "lets wander around and see what we find" type of shopper as opposed to a "this is my list and it's all that I need" type it'd be a little tougher to use.
OK...So now you've forced my hand.... My GF does most of the shopping but here's what I know
A cpl of times she's reviewed the reciept and noticed they missed the sale price...she looks it over usually before she/we pull away..they've fixed it right on the spot...
Coupons...not sure...she dosen't coupons that much...
The situation BK describes fits my case to the tee. We'll put in an order ...then do the actual pickup the next evening when we're out and about at dinner time...she works late/we eat out a lot.

I like the idea of shopping from home but haven't done grocery shopping online yet. After reading this thread i looked at the ShopRite's site and found the "arrive at your convenience" feature really interesting, the one of arriving and having them load your car with your pre-made order!
What comes to mind is this: once we shop for groceries online, the sky is the limit and we can really look for the best prices. One of the most popular places to shop for groceries is the Amazon Grocery
Stop & Shop has been doing this for quite a while now, and I know a bunch of people who are very happy with it. I think they call their serviice "Peapod". As someone else mentioned, it's great for the baxed & canned stuff. For the perishible stuff, produce, meats & the like, I want to be able to pick & choose, so I'll never stop going to the grocery store.

Great, you just reminded me of something else I miss about ShopRite!
I used the program all the time, while living in New Jersey. At first I wasn't sure if I could justify the $10 fee, but then I realized that it usually took me between 1 and 1.5hrs to do the weekly grocery shopping anyway, so the $10fee was definitely worth it.
The first time I arrived to pick up my groceries (Byram ShopRite), they handed me a beautiful bouquet of flowers! They took my coupons and debit card, after loading the groceries into my car, and returned with the bill to sign. I figured out that I was saving money by not going into the store and buying items that I really didn't need. It really helped me stick to my list.
Whoever thought of this was a genius!
Oh, and those "sale" items should definitely show up as sale items on your bill. Always check your bill before you drive off.

That's the one I'm using! Yippee, maybe I'll get flowers! They've already called to ask me 2 questions, the girl was very nice.
My thoughts are the same as yours - my time is worth more than $10 (even if that time means I'm sitting on my a** watching TV or posting here, LOL) AND it'll make sticking to the list much easier and therefore spending less money. Unfortunately, I already forgot a few items to order, things that I don't normally write down but know I pick up anyway, KWIM? Oh well, it'll take me a few times to get it down pat.
