I am visiting friends tomorrow in bedminster, NJ. We lived in the area for six years. Driving around in NYC etc is something I've done a lot so not intimidated by it. However, we are arriving la guardia at 4:30 pm so will hit rush hour to NJ. Should I go across GW Bridge to NJ. or into Manhattan then tunnel to NJ, or go south across Staten Island at this time of day?
I will post in NYC forum as well. Thanks in advance for an advice.
Honestly I think NYC metro traffic can be "fluid" meaning things can change at any time traffic wise.
I would go on a map site and maybe on Waze also and see where all the RED traffic areas are. It is also possible to come down the BQE from LaGuardia and go over the Willie (Williamsburg Br) to the Holland Tunnel to NJ. Sometimes I like that best since it seems everybody is jamming up the other two major routes and also you see NO toll going west that way crossing either river. I'm not saying it will be cake but an alternative.
Used waze all over the area while in the NYC metro and bedminster. Really liked it thanks for the guidance. Two hours from LGA at 530pm to bedminster vi southern route. Road was worse than the traffic but both be to the bone but visit made it well worth it.
