I know the legality of the front plate in NJ, and personally, I dont like it one bit, lol. Hopefully this hasnt been posted, but, an assemblyman from NJ is considering introducing legislation to eliminate the front plate requirement. I think that would be great, especially since I dont run a front plate to begin w/, so not having to worry about tickets would be nice, haha. Plus, I just think plates are an eye sore on any enthusiasts car, and these are just reasons that dont include the spending costs on the front plate program. (I can post some numbers if anyones interested, or its available through google) I sent him an email about my support for the program, and figured if enough people do, maybe we can help get this thing passed? His name is John Wisniewski. The email for him is asmwisniewski@njleg.org .

As a former NJ resident, I have had damage to the front bumper of my car because of having a front plate/bracket. All it took was a trip to the car wash. Here in NC and most of the other southern states there is only a rear plate requirement. I have a relative who is a police officer here and he said that there is no increase in crime or moving violations with no front plate. Most vehicle stops are from the rear. Also keep in mind the cut in manufacturing costs in a state (NJ) that so desperately needs to be more fiscally responsible. I would still be in Jersey if the cost of living wasn't so high.

Well, if they have time to make up an apologies for slavery then they've got time to do something productive like cutting an expense.

Cutting any expense would at least temporarily get their minds off of how to suck in more cash from the private sector proletariat.

as a car enthusiast myself.. i would prefer to have this law away with.. majority of people don't understand this.. one thing that I do think that more people can relate to is having front window tints.. as it helps keep the sun rays off the car..

We moved to NC and put plates on the front of 3 of our 4 vehicles. These plates do no damage to the front of the car, even going through a car wash every week or two. The other car doesn't have a bracket or holes for a bracket, so we didn't bother with a plate on that one (yet).

Low priority, but yes it is not only a stupid law, but a waste of money. Our money and the states. License plates aren't free. I know it's just a bunch of tin but still. Every dollar counts.

They also screw up aerodynamics and as a result hurt fuel mileage.
