I assume there is a terrorist faction and/or support in NJ, always. The 2/26/93 terrorists lived in NJ. Two days after 9/11 my ex-husband received a visit from the FBI inquiring into a former tenant in the building where he was a super in Fort Lee in connection with the attacks. Don't know what came of it, of course.
I think they are amongst us. Still not going to be paranoid, but it seems to be our reality.
Four Americans were killed by ISIS last year. 30,000 Americans were killed by guns. Doesn't matter. People still fear ISIS and think that any idiot should be able to assemble an arsenal.
More Americans were killed by furniture last year than by ISIS.
Didn't some of the people involved in 9-11 use a storage unit in Jersey City to store explosives? I remember reading that.
Not sure about that but the guys who tried to blow up the North Tower in 1993 rented the Ryder Truck they put the explosives in from Jersey City. I believe some or all of them were also living in Jersey City at the time. One of them was Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind of the 1993 WTC bombing, who fled to Jordan or something after the bombing and went on to help plan something called the Bojinka Plot with his uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in the 90s in the Philippines. It was a plan to blow up 12 or so US carrier jets (American, United) over the Pacific at once. They were also training terrorists in how to build bombs, and one day they accidentally blew up their apartment. Philippine police came, found their plans for the Bojikna Plot on a computer, and arrested Yousef (he's now in a federal facility in CO I believe) but his uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed got away. KSM knew someone named Osama bin Laden from their war days and told him of he and his nephew's plans to use planes as weapons... they went on to plan 9/11 together. KSM was one of the biggest planners behind 9/11. As of a few years ago he was on trial in Guantanamo. Not sure if it's still ongoing.
Nice Jersey roots huh?
Another interesting tidbit: How did the Feds trace the truck back to Jersey City? One of the dumb terrorists (Mohammed something) returned to the rental office a few days later and asked for his deposit on the truck to be returned even though the truck wasn't returned and was missing. He kept doing this and the owner or an employee at the company tipped off the FBI and he was arrested when he came to take the deposit, it was some planned operation. In the meantime, Yousef had already fled the country.
Well how many people died from terrorism in NJ is the last few years? Pretty much none. But apparently, 542 people died from car accidents in 2013 in NJ: Fatality Facts
Probably the number of people killed is roughly the same in 204 and the last few years.
And for some reason, no one is concerned about such a dangerous method of transportation...
It is too late. This country is already paranoid. People are ready to give up their rights to be "safe."
SOME people. I repeat, I am not going to be paranoid. I made up my mind about that in 1993 and reinforced it in 2001. There are others like us. We have to be the voice of reason.
Competent terrorists could be anywhere. That's the whole idea of being under cover. The people who need to really worry about terrorists in Jersey City are New Yorkers. They don't want to blow up J.C., it's just a staging area. Anyway, if the FBI already knows about them, they're going to have a bad time when they actually try to pull something. (assuming the FBI learned its lesson from 1993...)

Obviously, they didn't learn their lesson from 1993.
