Woodbridge Handgun Purchase permit process? (Trenton: license, design, place)

Hi, I am looking into the process of applying for a handgun purchase permit in Woodbridge, NJ. Has anyone here done so and could tell me what the process is and which forms I have to fill out? Thank you, it is much appreciated!

Go there and ask for the forms or find them on line at the state police website. Fill them out and bring it to the police dept for processing. Read the questions carefully, there are a couple that seem to trip people up...re citizenship and follow up questions. Logic is a bit clumsy on the form design.


You do know you need to have a firearms id card before you can apply for a permit to purchase?


In that case you'd follow the same procedure except for the proper forms and then they send you to a place near edison to get fingerprinted. Cops used to fingerprint you at the station, now they send you to a third party.


Make sure your address on your driver's license is the same as on your FID card and the form.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I am looking into the ID Card. So far, I believe these two forms below are what I need to fill out and mail to the NJSP Firearms Investigation Unit in Trenton(?) (I found the forms here- New Jersey State Police - Firearms Information - Forms to Download)
