Hi all,

My husband and I are looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in the jersey area. It should be in a decent neighborhood. Now the thing is that he also travels to manhattan and doesn't want to pay extra crazy money on the commute. Is there a location in jersey close to a train station that perhaps either has free parking or doesn't cost that much to get to manhattan? He works in the downtown area. I am assuming that the train should go to ny penn station?

Any ideas of places or areas or closeby trainstations?

There are no inexpensive ways to commute into Manhattan. Bus would probly be your best option. Train passes are very expensive and so is parking.....if you are even lucky to obtain a pass. Most train stations have long waiting lists to get a parking permit.

How much are you looking to spend on an apt and how much on the commute? Remember, living in NJ and working in NYC is not cheap.

You might consider Bloomfield. Montclair is also an option, but higher rents. I'm sure you'll get many suggestions. Good luck!

Default walk to train station

A monthly pass from Metropark runs about 226 there are place to rent or buy near the train station.
Woodbridge Township is about a 30 min train ride to nyc.
How much were you looking to spend ?
