Hackettstown is nice and has a nice Main Street. Although I haven't been the Centenary College in a while, it's a plus too. Not sure if it w/b my favorite town in NJ but it's 'up there'.

I am also a huge fan of Hackettstown. It has such a neat downtown and good restaurants. Plus it's close to shopping, yet still has a nice rural feel to it. Of course, you can always drive a couple of miles in any direction of it and really be in the rural areas. People are very friendly too.

My daughter went to sleep away camp out that way. It seemed to have all the stores you'd need and yes, a nice feel. I think we were in Mt Olive too.

Within the Town of Hackettstown they run around 10K for the newer homes. Neighboring towns are much lower. Thinking of moving out my way : ) I currently pay 9800/Yr and I have a 4 yr old house on 4 acres. I'm 10 mins outside of town.

For the most part that whole area of Hackettstown, Farfeghnuglysen*sp, Mansfield, you know north warren county and part of sussex county to the likes of Newton & Sparta are hidden gems, as you drive or walk around those towns and you see the views, the atmosphere, the quality of life, the restaurants, the antique shops, the lakes, the people, you'll feel nostalgic to the days of yesterdays when life was much simpler. I can tell you as I commute to East Rutheford everyday, once I drive past exit 30 on my way back home to Newton, wait, I'll even be bolder and say exit 34 in Rockway, it's just like 2 different time zones, I swear it's like 5 degrees cooler from that spot forward and you feel all the stress and pressures of life dissapear. This past few nights have been tremendously fabulous w/ the weather and the full moon, we sit on the front porch, take a breeze, talk w/ our neighbors, drink tea (well, my wife & her friends do) and if you go to Hackettstown is the exact same feel. Small town USA in Jersey, now who would've thought of such a thing? so Please, do come to Hackettstown in it's surrounding area and enjoy the people, the restaurants, the shopping (granted, it's not like we have Saks fifth Ave, Dolce & Gabbana or Louis Vuitton Stores) but you'll be surprised as to what you may find in Warren & Sussex county.
