Take Nutley off your list. Bloomfield is fine depending on where you are. Near brookdale is ideal. West Orange is doable but the price range you would be targeting is ~350k as taxes are higher there. But you can find what you are looking for in that range. Verona may work as well but there is less diversity. But certainly more than many other towns.
Ultimately, you are going to find that nice towns that are diverse and have an easier commute will be more expensive.
Why? In my opinion, Nutley is way nicer than Bloomfield....
Bloomfield has become a hot market with multiple offer situations common as Montclair has priced out a lot of buyers. I have a closing friday; $489 ask, $540 sale price. Nutley is a little more manageable.

To the OP, Nutley, Bloomfield, West Orange are fine towns each with their pros and cons.
Verona is too, but I notice you mention there is less diversity. I don't think this person has ever been to Verona, as it's extremely diverse.
Consider that at least 1% of the population of Verona is made up of people whose ancestry traces from: Lithuania, Macedonia, Italy, Austria, Ireland, Egypt, Germany, France, Ukraine, England, Poland, and Russian (12 countries!) with a significant amount from Sweden, Greece, Scotland, Canada.

To say Verona isn't diverse is frankly ludicrous.
With that in mind, it's probably best to consider property value, taxes, crime and amenities instead of shamefully judging people based on some arbitrary criteria like ethnic origin, sexuality, or skin color.

Best of luck in your search!
Less diversity does not mean "isn't diverse".
But it is 90.6 white so to them it may not be as diverse as they prefer. Really its the OPs call.
Try paramus. Cheapest by far in terms of taxes. Diverse. Decent schools.
Haha, we need to set the numbers what is consider cheap in Bergen. Even bad places still costs atleast $400k
