What's the deal with that town? I know its history and it seems like it's lived on in some form or fashion. A few nice houses here and there but why does the entire place seem overgrown with weeds , mold and bad landscaping? I love the Bauhaus vibe but why is that synonymous with poor upkeep? Are there an inordinate amount of seniors possibly? Crime is virtually non-existent per what I've read. Should be a great place to raise a young family.

I've wondered this myself, based on location. I'm glad places like this, so close to the NJ urban corridor, have gone completely under the radar. In the end, I just think no one has gotten the ball rolling on the area, so no investment has taken place.

I know someone who lives there, and it is off the radar. I believe they said they have to have a POBox as no home delivery. I guess nowadays that's probably less of an inconvenience than it used to be. I remember them having to go to the PO every so often to pick up their mail.

Years ago a resident told me that the town is run by every member of their small population, at the time at least. I think he was the water treatment guy in town, but his main job was as a science teacher in another town. He said all of his neighbors each took on some sort of municipal function. Apparently cutting the grass on public lands isn’t a priority?

Nope, nobody lives there at all. Everyone just disappeared one day. Aliens, maybe, or Bigfoot.

Just kidding, imagination prompted by the thread title.

There's no reason to go there. There's a school and a post office.

I never knew that but I just went on street view and didn't see any mail boxes by the houses. It's strange that there is no mail delivery. Its not in the middle of nowhere. It's only minutes from East Windsor and Highstown.

It's pretty unique and it's located on the fringe of Monmouth County and well away from the most densely populated areas of the county. About 20 years ago, the town made the headlines when residents elected a mayor by write-in, he wasn't even on the ballot but everyone knew snd liked this guy and they decided to make him the mayor.
