Huh? From Princeton to New Hope, you don't need to go on Route 1 at all!

I would love to live in Hoboken and i think i could make it work with roommates, but is it crazy to want to commute that far? Looks like about an hour and a half each way by train.
I'm not sure that the commute from Hoboken is an hour and a half. Might be only an hour. What's your limit?

You can get to Princeton Junction from either New York or Philly in about an hour, depending on which train you take. But, unless you'll be working in downtown Princeton Junction or downtown Princeton (accessible from Princeton Junction via a spur train know as the "Dinky"), you'll then need a car to get to your office.

Honestly if you are working right in princeton, I would try to find a nice condo or apartment right in princeton. why not? it's got a nice little downtown with a little action, it's safe, it's quaint, you've got the university resources at your disposal, you are near a train station for when you want to go hang out in new brunswick or hoboken or new york on the weekends. and you'll LOVE your commute. my 2nd choise would be new brunswick. it is even more centrally located than princeton (closer to NY, etc). it has a pretty good nightlife and a little downtown as well. got Rutgers, the train station, etc too. that is what I would do. if you could afford it, I'd look into some of the new high rises they've got there.
