Hi Everyone!

After reading Shanny's post about her hubbie the retired air force pilot, I thought it would be nice to have a thread honoring the men and and women who are brave and courageous enough to serve our country.

By praising them, it does not mean you agree or disagree with the war. It simply means you are thanking them for doing a job most of us could never do and for keeping us safe and free.

So here's my thanks and God bless all the men and women in our military for keeping us safe and free.

Just put my FIL (WW2 AF Pilot ret) on a plane back to his home in FL proudly sporting poppies on his lapel. He would have preferred to be flying that US Airways Jet himself but at 83 years old he would be way more comfortable flying an F104 Starfighter or his favourite the F86 Sabre.

I fear for his life when he drives his '02 Avalon, but never worried when he was in the air!

Shanny- Here's to your husband and all who serve and have served!

Agreed... Regardless of anyone's own personal opinion regarding current conflicts, let us all just respect those for what they chose to do.

As the son of a long-standing Naval family, I have nothing but the greatest admiration and utmost respect for those who have toiled and sacrificed in service to this great nation of ours.

My sincerest prayers, brightest hopes, and warmest regards go out to every sailor, soldier, marine, and airman who have served and who continue to serve, as well as to the families who have toiled and sacrificed in the name of love and support.

May God Bless each and every serviceman and woman. Your successes will always be admired, your trials always appreciated, and your service never forgotten.

My dad, army
My grandfather, a sergeant major in the marines

No matter what service, no matter what purpose, its a hard decision, tough work, and its 100% appreciated by all. My thanks go out to all of those involved.

(and I'm still trying to find a mount for my flag!)
