Default Survey - property corners

survey company is charging 125 per corner. How important is identifying the corners?

Mine charges only $75.00/corner. I would only have them set one if there aren't any there already. Unless you plan on putting in a fence... there's really no need for them.

Or you could do like I did - just follow them around when they do the survey and ask them where to place your own flags.

An Iron Pin...a metal pole pretty much. They typically flag the corners and leave the flags there so just pop a piece of rebar in the spot that they mark : )

New construction here..
We called the survey people out a few weeks ago as we're thinking of getting a fence. We'd looked on the survey, something didn't look right. The guy came out the next day with his metal detector, in the front yard there is rebar, not sure about back in the woods but I'd imagine it's there too. 1 corner has a monument, so I'd imagine that would be the main marker in case something happens to the rebar.

For now, he gave us wood stakes which have pink ribbon on them.
