I am currently interested in purchasing a home on Washington Ave in Pompton lakes NJ. This house does require flood insurance but I was just wondering if anyone knows how bad this area flooded in the past. Do those houses usually get a lot of water? Do the streets in that area get flooded bad? I'm really nervous about all this flood nonsense so any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

According to online maps, that is 2.8 miles (an 8 minute drive) from where I used to live in Pompton Plains. But it's been so long I haven't a clue. LOL! We were married in the church on the corner of Wanaque Ave/Rd and Hamburg Tpke.

To me, a whole lot of Pompton Lakes and Pompton Plains below the railroad tracks floods. I agree...check with town hall or a realtor.
