Wow, why do we keep the things we do? I found a receipt from Target - 2005. 2005! What the heck did I buy? Toothpaste and laundry detergent.

I also found a broken pair of glasses. Why did I keep them? Was I planning on gluing them back together or something? This move I turn into a minimalist!

I am about to get lost in a sea of boxes

Good luck! I've been there and now I get rid of everything that's not useful or that I don't love.

Purge, purge, purge! It's not just for bulimics anymore

HG, I'd hate to see the amount of crap you'd accumulate in a 2500 sq ft house! LOL!!

At least you dumped it. My son came here with a car full of plastic bags that barely held all the things he piled in it. He could not put his luggage in the car, so got rid of that, but kept pure junk. We had him throw alot away in Apt dumpster. He had recepts, buttons, used up gift cards, and broken sun glasses.
Fyi, his apt here is nice and roomy, 2 bedroom, 2 baths, and $685 a month. Its in a garden apt complex with a Pool, Fitness room, and Clubhouse. All is included in rent.

What I can't believe is how much stuff I moved that I don't need. Considering movers charge by the pound.....Throwing out and donating the rest; like therapy!

My studio? 550SF. I would shudder if I had a 2500 SF house to pack up and move!

I had 3 Coors Lights so far today. The breakfast of champions to numb me while I pack.

Sometimes I "purge" too much, LOL. In fact, I sometimes throw out things I actually end up needing in the future! My parents get angry at me over this all the time.

But I can't help it; I can't stand cluttered spaces. I also cringe at the sight of visible electrical wires/extention cords.
