in the 1960's, does anyone remember Lincoln Park, and a petting zoo, or knew Patrick Lambert and his wife Irene who lived on Corbin Avenue? She lived on Academy Street also? He was my grandfather and I am trying to find out about a petting zoo he tried to start, and ducks he kept in our basement. He ws a construction worker, worked on the Lincoln tunnel, and the pulaski highway bridge and at macys in NY. Any ifomration you have about him and my grandmother would be wondeerful if you could share
I played in that park in the 60's but do not remember a petting zoo.
There is/was a small pond surrounded by benches that had ducks in it. In the winter sometimes it would freeze over and kids would skate on it.
Had a nice play ground up off of Westside Ave and the fountain over by St Al's off of Westside Ave but for the life of me I can not remember a petting zoo.
Back in the day that was a great park..would still be if it weren't worth your life to stroll through it...in the Fall I would take the long way home after getting out of school at St Al's to walk through the park because it was so pretty.
