Well, my #1 place to move would be Hawaii (been there 5 times)....but, too far away from family. The weather is perfect and the Aloha spirit lives on.

Second choice is San Francisco area.

But, in reality, we'll probably end up in NC, or, Florida. We don't want cold winters anymore.

Otherwise more locally and to get away from the urbanized area here in north east nj I seriously ponder moving out to far west nj/east pa (Rt 78 corridor).

How abot you guys?
1. Anywhere tropical near a beach
2. California
3. Anywhere where it's not cold

Have you actually been in West Virginia? Having traveled through the state and owning a place in PA about a half hour from the Eastern Panhandle, I agree with STrapani whole-heartedly. West Virgina is a great location, especially if you enjoy rural areas but still want to be relatively close to cosmopolitan areas without the stupidity of the control freaks who want to micro-manage everything other people do.

My places:

1) WV
2) Ashville, NC
3) Anzio, Italy

Agreed!! I have been to the area you are talking about in WV on our way to Asheville and it gorgeous.

BTW... STRap lives in Mendham if he's dreaming of somewhere he likes more than that, I'd say it must be fantastic.

West Virginia is beautiful. I'm sure that person has never been there. There are so many misconceptions of places in the South.
We moved from NJ to Nashville. My husband asked for a Transfer here. I went to college here. We wanted our children to be able to afford a home one day. My daughter came with us, son did not, but now moved here for good. He loves it here. So when my husband retires we are set.
