We have just moved to society hill from DC and would like to get to know people and make new friends.

Anyone living in society hill jersey city interested in a pot luck or any other 'get to know your neigbors ' kind of ideas?

If you have kids, you can stop by the river walk or playground in the evening. You will meet lots of parents in the evening when the weather is good.

Look on Meetup.com. There might be some groups and events on there too.

Hi, we are also new to Society Hill, we just moved in this past weekend. Can anyone give me an advice on commuting to NYC? I know there is a bus service offered within the society (we got a brochure from management during orientation), but it seems a bit pricey. What other busess come directly or close to our gate and how long do they take to get to JSQ path?

There is the NJ transit bus which takes you to JSQ .I think the # is 80.the bus stop is on Danforth and west side ave/fowler ave .Thats outside the society hill gates around 0.1 miles. It takes nearly 20-25 mins to to JSQ and the frequency is good.
you can check the NJ transit website , here is the link -

There is a soceity hill - JSQ but right outside of the front gate of SH I. To take 80, you will need to across RT440 to Danforth Ave. I think society hill - JSQ bus has short route than 80 and you don't need to across RT440.
Another option, you can take light rail at west side. Both SH-JSQ bus and 80 stop there or you can park and ride. Monthly pass can get free transfer of 1 zone bus.
