Is there any reason to try out the new Sonic on rt. 22 or is it just another fast food joint with car hop service? I am assuming it does have car hop service.
I drive by there daily and it looks like it might open any day. I can see all the young people hanging out in the summer using it as a place to showcase they "rides".
We already have Fuddruckers in Bridgewater for "car shows" but I guess we need one in Green Brook also.
I know Sonic is popular down South but that is also the fast food capital of the country.
So what's so special about the food?
Sonic is really just fast food, not much more special than Wendy's or Burger King, but it's not half bad and can certainly hit the spot if that's what you're looking for. I like the bacon cheeseburger on Texas toast with hickory sauce. The cherry and apple limeades aren't bad either. When they opened up the one in Totowa, the line was down the shoulder of 46.
This is a good development, I suppose, as I always liked Sonic. I won't use this one, obviously, unless I'm in the area, as it's Somerset County and I live in Essex co. I use the one in Totowa (Passaic co.) However it's nice to have a cheaper meal option that isn't Mickey D's.
The people I know that love Sonic say it's about the drinks. Apparently they make all kinds of different milkshakes and smoothies.
